Spanish 2 Practice Oral Assessment 1.1 – El comienzo de las clases (Back to School)
You and 3 friends are meeting for lunch on the first Saturday after school started. You have a lot to talk about since you are all involved in different extracurricular activities and don’t see each other much during the school day. During your lunch you discuss your classes, teachers and people in your classes. You ask each other about teachers that you don’t know well so that you have an idea about how the teacher is before going back into class with them.
Now, perform the following conversation in Spanish using this script to guide you. Use as many new structures and vocabulary words as you can as this is the information I hope to hear in your performance. ¡Buena suerte! Good luck!
Friend A: Greet both of your friends and ask them what’s going on.
Friend B: Respond to the greeting and tell Friend A nothing is going on.
Friend C: Respond to Friend A and greet Friend B. Ask your friends if they like their classes.
Friend A: Say that you like your classes, but your math teacher is really strict.
Friend B: Say that you like your English and Spanish class, but you don’t like your History class because you
don’t know anyone in it. Ask Friend C about his/her classes.
Friend C: Tell your friend you don’t like your classes at all.
Friend A: Ask C why and what his/her teachers are like.
Friend C: Respond with negative descriptions about your teachers and classmates.
Friend B: Ask Friend C who their teachers are. Say that you know his/her English teacher. Tell your friend that teacher is really sarcastic and selfish, but his/her math teacher is patient and the best teacher in the school.
Friend A: Tell Friend C that you know a girl in his/her Spanish class. Tell him/her they are the best student in the school.
Friend C: Tell your friends they are the best friends in the world (el mundo) and thank them.
Friends A/B: Respond to the thanks.
All Friends: Say a form of goodbye and close the conversation.
